EDL 585: Lesson 6 Technology Strand

In the last lesson, you started experimenting with a wiki for your group project. As that group project continues, you will undoubtedly have more questions about how you can make the wiki work for you. Please continue your efforts to master the wiki technology.

Elluminate Live!

For the Technology Strand in this lesson, you will not need to master a technology skill - but only experience using Elluminate Live!. This is a synchronous web seminar system that allows instructors and students to talk (if they have a microphone on their computer), chat, and share computer desktops. The system is useful for demonstrations, presentations, question and answer sessions, and anything else that can benefit from real-time, synchronous communication. Your professor has made arrangements for you to attend an EndNote demonstration using Elluminate Live. If you haven't already, please read the Lesson 6 Writing and Research Strand for more information on EndNote.

Your task for this lesson is to experience an Elluminate Live session. Your professor has already shared information about the time and place with you. If you haven't already, you need to review an email message sent out earlier this week that gives instructions for preparing your computer for your first Elluminate Live session. All of the instructions are in the email and at the Elluminate web site. Here are some tips for making your Elluminate Live session a successful one:
