Publications: Program Evaluations - FOR-PD

Working on the Florida Online Reading Professional Development (FOR-PD) project has given me many important experiences. I have seen a large-scale statewide project through development, implementation, and evaluation. I have also served as a member of the project evaluation team under the direction of Dr. Debbie Hahs-Vaughn, a research professor. The team's task was to prepare an evaluation report for the first year of project implementation. (Report available upon request.)

I made a variety of contributions to the evaluation effort. I believe one of the more important things I brought to the team was my deep understanding of the project development and implementation. This insight was useful to contextualize the data under examination and to guide our inquiry. My specific tasks included:

• Compile the literature review of staff development evaluation models
• Draft protocols for focus groups comprised of course facilitators
• Draft protocols for interviews of key stakeholders
• Compile raw data for analysis
• Design data collection procedures
• Edit, edit, edit, edit the report

Working on the evaluation team led to numerous presentations and publications more fully documented in my vita.
