Introduction

I have a strong commitment to service. Much of that commitment results from my upbringing. I simply believe I should do what I can to make the world a better place. I have no illusions that I can change the world, but I can improve it for those around me. I also feel an obligation to serve the UCF community because I have been given the great privilege of attending the university on a Presidential Fellowship. To me, it is an implicit duty of that award to give back to the university community.

My service activities reflect my strong interest in teaching and learning. I have had the privilege of serving the university, the graduate students, the broader community, and professional organizations. I have been able to concentrate my efforts on activities to improve the academic experience at the University of Central Florida. Choosing this focus has given me the opportunity to work on projects that also provide an academic benefit for my involvement.
