Choose any one of these excellent websites to get an overview of the WebQuest design process.

Roadmap to Designing A Great WebQuest

This PowerPoint presentation is by Dr. Bernie Dodge, the originator of the WebQuest strategy. This presentation walks you through the seven steps for desigining a great WebQuest. Learn from the master. Caution: This may be time-consuming if you're running on a slow, dial-up connection.

The WebQuest Design Process (Tom March)

Tom March invites you to "get in the flow." Tom was one of the first people to work with the WebQuest strategy and has designed some of the best you will find. His tips and discussion on the WebQuest design process are very useful. In addition, he has created an interactive web site to help you design a WebQuest by filling in a series of forms. There is a small annual fee for his Web-and-Flow Interactive membership (well worth it), but he offers excellent advice at no charge. Be certain to click the images in the flowchart for more information.

The WebQuest Design Process (San Diego City Schools)

The folks in charge of the technology-related staff development at San Diego City Schools have posted their approach to designing a WebQuest. They have a lot of experience and have done extensive training in this area, so their advice is worth heeding. Again, be sure to click on the images in the flowchart for more information.

(Re) Designing a WebQuest

It may be that modifying an existing WebQuest is the right choice for you. There's no point in reinventing the wheel. Dr. Bernie Dodge has a nice tutorial for redesigning WebQuests.
